Business Counts Mission Business Retention and Expansion Report
In the fall of 2012, the District of Mission issued a Request for Proposal to complete a BRE interview process focused on supporting local business requirements – both now and in the future. The project was led by the Economic Development Select Committee (EDC), an advisory body to the District of Mission’s Council.
The project concentrated its efforts on key sectors that are economic drivers throughout the Mission area including Manufacturing, Professional and Technical Services and Retail Trade. The project’s purpose was to provide the EDC with information to assist them with programming, planning and policy development. In addition, the program was to provide information assistance for the formation of two local industry associations for manufacturing and technology.
Fifty-eight businesses within Mission were interviewed in person. The interviews (site visits) were conducted by a contracted third-party consultant. The site visits took place between September 15, 2012 and October 20, 2012. From a list of 147 businesses, 58 site visits were scheduled. To view the final report click here
