Budget and Financial Reports

District Publishes Community Report

On Thursday, November 3, 2011, the District of Mission Finance Department published a Community Report which includes community, District and financial planning information.  “This document represents best practice in reporting and we felt it was in the community’s best interest to provide the information now, prior to the upcoming budget diaglogue, so that the public will have the time to go through the material in advance,” said Ken Bjorgaard, Director of Finance.

This is the first year that the District has put together a Community Report which is an expanded version of the annual budget document.  The new format is a comprehensive look at the District and its finances and highlights the importance of future-oriented planning – something that is increasingly necessary in today’s economic climate.

“The information in this report will help inform the decision-making about future tax and service levels,” said Paul Gipps, Deputy CAO with the District of Mission, “and hopefully encourage people to take an active role in the public discussion.”  Questions on the information contained in the community Report can be directed to Ken Bjorgaaard or Paul Gipps.
