Fire Department Community Events
The Mission Fire/Rescue Service and its staff are involved in several community events throughout the year.
Fire Prevention Week (October)
The Mission Fire/Rescue Service participated in various activities during Fire Prevention Week which usually occurs the 1st or 2nd week of October. For more information click here.
Mission Community Services Fireman’s Santa Run (December)
Each year the Mission Community Services Christmas Bureau sponsors a food/donation collection program for needy families. The Mission Fire/Rescue Service Fire Fighters volunteer their time to drive fire apparatus throughout selected streets of Mission to collect food, toys and money. This program is very popular, and the public enjoy seeing the fire apparatus in their neighbourhood collecting for this worthy cause.
Candlelight Parade (December)
The parade is held the first Friday of December. The Mission Fire/Rescue Service participates in Mission’s Candlelight Parade each year. Most of the Fire Department emergency vehicles participate in the parade. The Firefighters’ Association enters a fire department theme float in the parade each year and has won several awards. Muscular Dystrophy Fundraising Events
The Mission Fire Fighters Association participates in several fundraising events throughout the year. Many of these events raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. For more information on fundraising events click here.
