Mission Community Services Fireman’s Santa Run (December)

Each year the Mission Community Services Christmas Bureau sponsors a food/donation collection program for needy families. The Mission Fire/Rescue Service Fire Fighters volunteer their time to drive fire apparatus throughout selected streets of Mission to collect food, toys and money. This program is very popular, and the public enjoy seeing the fire apparatus in their neighbourhood collecting for this worthy cause.

The parade is held the first Friday of December. The Mission Fire/Rescue Service participates in Mission’s Candlelight Parade each year.  Most of the Fire Department emergency vehicles participate in the parade. The Firefighters’ Association enters a fire department theme float in the parade each year and has won several awards.  Some are listed below:       2nd prize in 2002     3rd prize in 2004     3rd prize in 2008
