Fire and Life Safety Programs
Most fires and injuries are preventable. Educating the public about how to survive a fire and prevent fires from starting in the first place is an important responsibility of the modern day fire service. More and more, communities are looking to the fire service for information on how to keep their homes and families safe from fire.
Public fire and life safety education programs provide a way for the fire service to reach into the community and encourage positive change. Local community fire problems can be addressed proactively through public education programs targeted at specific fire problems. Working together, the fire service and the communities they serve can reduce the loss of life and property from fire. The Mission Fire/Rescue Service utilizing a combination of career and volunteer staff carry out a variety of educational programs. These programs include, but are not limited to:
- Fire Safety Education (Kindergarten to Seniors)
