Boating and Fishing Areas

Boating

Stave Lake BC Hydro controls a boat launch facility on Stave Lake at approximately 1 km north on the Florence Lake Forest Service Road.  The launch can be closed during dam maintenance periods.  Please refer to BC Hydro website for more information on closures.

The access to the launch may also be closed from the beginning of the Florence Lake Forest Service Road during period of high forest fire danger or other road maintenance periods.  Click here to view any road closures or restrictions.

Hayward Lake

BC Hydro Park and Facility.  This reservoir is restricted to non-motorized boats.

Devils Lake, Sayres Lake, Morgan Lake, Florence Lake

Access to these lakes is via hiking in only, therefore restricted to non-motorized boats only.

Fishing

For current regulations and restrictions, please refer to the Freshwater Fishing Synopsis. Lakes available for freshwater angling in and around the Municipal Forest include:

  • Hoover Lake
