National Lifejacket Day
May 17 is designated National Lifejacket Day by the Canadian Red Cross and we’re inviting you to bring in your lifejackets to the Leisure Centre to have them checked and tested by aquatic staff. Every year hundereds of people drown in Canada as a result of not wearing or not properly securing a lifejacket when boating. These accidents are preventable, join us on May 17 to learn more.
Victoria Day Long Weekend Hours
The Leisure Centre will be open during regular hours on Saturday, May 19 & 20 but will only be open from 8:30 – 4:30pm on Monday, May 21. Drop-in Fitness classes do not run Sat-Mon and swim lessons do not run from Fri-Mon. All lessons and drop-in classes will resume on Tuesday, May 22.

Water Safety Week
Join us at the Leisure Centre during our Water Safety Week. The event will feature activities, games, giveaways, displays, demos and more. Different themes each day of the week at our public swims. The Water Safety Week Finale swim is on Sunday, June 10 from 2-4pm. More information to come…

Mission 120th Anniversary Grant Application
The District of Mission will be celebrating its 120th Anniversary this year and the Province of British Columbia has provided funding in the amount of $75,000 to directly support the arts and culture component of the celebration…. more
Off Leash Area Maintenance
The Centennial Park Off-Leash Area will be temporarily closed from April 3 to May 18 to restore the grass inside the fence line. During this time, a temporary Off-Leash Area will be set up adjacent to the existing area defined by snow fencing. We appreciate your cooperation by staying off the existing area as we will be using fertilizer to promote grass growth. The same rules of conduct will apply in the temporary area.
