The Corporate Administration Department is responsible for overseeing the District’s overall operation in accordance with the policies and procedures adopted by the Municipal Council. The Personnel function also forms a substantial part of the responsibilities of this Department. These responsibilities include staff recruitment at all levels, development and management of the corporate training and employee development program, managing all labour relations functions. The Information Services Department coordinates and follows through on the short and long term strategic planning and acquisition of corporate computer equipment, services, and telecommunications equipment and services. This ensures the effective operation of the District’s information services infrastructure and supports the various applications/processes of the municipality and its interaction with the citizens of Mission.

The District of Mission Economic Development function’s key responsibility is to work with the Economic Development Committee to implement the District of Mission Economic Strategy. The department’s primary focus is to pursue industrial, commercial and tourism sectors to encourage business investment and expansion initiatives in the District of Mission.

The Engineering functions include the evaluation of the capacity and condition of municipal roads, water, sewer and drainage systems. Engineering also administers the Waste Management Program which involves the provision of services for the collection and disposal of solid wastes in the District.

The Mission Fire/Rescue Services provides fire and rescue services to the residents of the District of Mission from three facilities.

The Forestry Department manages Mission Tree Farm Licence #26, also know as the Mission Municipal Forest. The forest area is approximately 10,000 hectares of which about 12% is municipally owned and 88% is provincial crown land. Major forestry programs include harvesting, tree planting, cone and seed collection, plantation brushing, tree spacing, tree pruning, road construction, forest fire prevention, trail building, etc.

Public Works is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the municipal roads network, the drainage systems within the municipality, the water utility, the sanitary sewer utility, the municipal equipment fleet, the radio communications system, and the municipal gravel pit operations.

Mission Restorative Resolutions is a community based service intended to assist individuals in repairing incidents of harm and resolving conflict, through voluntary faciliated restorative processes. Trained volunteer facilitators bring together the affected parties to facilitate accountability, healing and closure, to improve the well-being of those involved.

Police services in the District of Mission are provided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Apart from police calls, the 9-1-1 service also dispatches fire calls and ambulance service for the Mission area.
