Veterans of Vimy Ridge


The Battle of Vimy Ridge took place on April 9, 1917, where the four Canadian divisions fought together for the first time as a unified force. A total of 3,598 Canadians were killed during the battle. The famous memorial at Vimy Ridge is part of the 107 hectares of land granted to Canada by France to mark the sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers.
