The District of Mission is exploring the option of upgrading 14th Avenue to a collector-road standard, including road widening, improved pedestrian and cycling facilities, street lighting, and other urban features. Aplin & Martin Consultants have been retained to prepare a detailed design for 14th Avenue from Cade Barr to Hurd Streets.

Residents along the corridor may notice:

  • Survey crews from Murray & Associates who will be on site from Sept 17 for about a month.
  • Geotechnical engineers who will also be on site in the near future to do borehole drilling on the road/shoulders in 8 to 12 locations.
  • traffic counts which will be done at 5 intersections.

Survey crews may require access to some properties to survey existing features such as driveways, fences, and buildings, and will have proper identification at all times as well as formal letters from the municipality.
