Central Neighbourhood Plan

Following the adoption of the Master Infrastructure Strategy for the Silverdale Comprehensive Planning Area (SCPA) in southwest Mission, the Central Neighbourhood Plan is being undertaken to advance the District’s vision outlined in the Official Community Plan of a complete, connected Mission.

The Central Neighbourhood Plan (CNP), covering an area of 733 hectares, is the first of three Neighbourhood Plans to be prepared for the Silverdale Comprehensive Planning Area.

The following pillars will be used to guide the Central Neighbourhood Plan:

  • Ecological: Working with nature
  • Social: Living lightly
  • Economic: Support local lifestyles

Read more about each of these pillars and how they will inform the Central Neighbourhood Plan in the Planning Principles document.

Get Involved

In Phase 2, we will begin exploring preliminary design options. In this phase, the public will be invited to:

Also in Phase 2, landowners in the CNP area will be invited to:

  • MEETING 1 | Wednesday, March 10 | 6 – 8 pm
  • MEETING 2 | Friday, March 12 | 3 – 5 pm

Virtual Meetings will be hosted by EKISTICS, the lead Neighbourhood Plan Consultant, through Zoom Webinar. This format will enable Landowners to view a presentation of the Neighbourhood Plan context, site analysis and findings to date. In addition, Landowners will also have the opportunity to pose any questions you may have regarding the Neighbourhood Plan.

You will be required to provide your name and property address to register for a Virtual Meeting. We ask that landowners register for only one of the two sessions to help manage attendance and ensure a productive discussion.
