December 2022 Update
Inclement weather conditions have halted the construction activity on the Gaudin Creek Detention Pond, the contractor MAREX Constructors has begun demobilization and winter shut down. The Gaudin Creek project will be postponed until early summer 2023, at which time the contractor will return to complete the remaining works. MAREX and City staff will be monitoring site conditions throughout the winter, should any issues or concerns arise please reach out to one of the Project Contacts.
On June 24th City staff released a Request for Proposal for the Construction of the Gaudin Creek Community Detention Pond. The project was to complete the construction of a new community detention facility and associated creek channel, downstream of the existing detention facility.
On August 15th council approved a budget increase and awarded the contract to MAREX Constructors Ltd. The Notice to Proceed has been issued, the contractor has submitted their documents and the Contract has been executed. After a pre-construction meeting in August, MAREX mobilized on to the site in September.
