Fire Prevention Week
Welcome to Fire Prevention Week!
Each year North America wide, Fire Services proclaims the second week of October to be “Fire Prevention Week” with a focus on home fire safety. This year’s theme, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!”, works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe. What do the sounds mean? Is there a beep or a chirp coming out of your smoke or carbon monoxide alarm? Knowing the difference can save you, your home, and your family.
Make sure you visit the Videos tab for educational videos made by our local Firefighters.
For more information call Mission Fire Rescue Service at 604-820-3793 or visit the NFPA Fire Prevention Week website.
Listen as Casey Grant from the National Fire Protection Association and best-selling author Lauren Tarshsis of the ‘I Survived’ book series talk about the lessons we learned from the Great Chicago Fire in 1871.
