Trails
Throughout the Municipal Forest there are many opportunities for outdoor recreation like hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, boating, fishing, snowmobiling and swimming.
Find out more about the forest trails operated by the Forestry department.
While you are welcome to park and hike our logging roads, please: do not park in front of or proceed to drive through any gates at any time. There may be workers that need access or are already inside! Roads behind gates are only single lane, with no turn-outs, logging trucks need the right of way. Gates can be locked at any time, leaving you locked in for 12 hours or longer!
Camping behind gates is prohibited due to the fire hazard and other issues associated with those activities.
Vehicles left at trail-heads and other areas within the Municipal Forest and along the Florence Lake Forest Service Road are occasionally the targets of vandalism and/or theft. Please do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.
