After ten years of effort, the Fujikawa family's contributions to the community were officially recognized on June 27, 2024, with the unveiling of an interpretive sign, garden, and structure, all completed in the spring of that year.

The historical landmark and the legacy of the family was celebrated through a community celebration hosted at Silverdale Hall. The gathering was an opportunity for neighbours to come together and learn the story in a thoughtfully planned event organized by Kim Walker, a direct descendant of the Fujikawa family.
