Municipal Grants

Special Winter Event Grant

The City of Mission is now accepting applications for the Special Winter Event Grant, a one-time pilot program designed to support small, winter-themed arts and cultural events in Centennial Park.

This grant program was created to help activate public space during the quieter winter months by encouraging community-led events that are inclusive, creative, and accessible to the public. The goal is to provide residents with more opportunities to connect and participate in local cultural experiences throughout the winter season.

Events must:

  • Take place between November 15 and January 31
  • Be free and open to the public
  • Align with the goals of creating inclusive, community-oriented programming

Grants are available in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $2,500. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the available funding is fully allocated. If you have any questions about the grant or the application process, please feel free to reach out.

Community Enhancement, Community Event, and Special Event Grants

Community Enhancement and Community Event grants aim to support local organizations and groups with a physical presence in Mission dedicated to enhancing the community through arts, culture, or recreational activities.

Special Event Grants are for one-time events of cultural, social, or recreational significance to the community, and are open to the public free of charge. Whether you’re hosting a community event or contributing to the cultural vibrancy of Mission, these grants can provide financial support.

The application window for the annual grant cycle opens in early August and closes on September 30th. Please ensure to submit your applications by the annual deadline of September 30th. Late submissions will not be considered.

How Grant Applications Are Evaluated

Applications for Community Enhancement, Community Event, and Special Event Grants are assessed by a grant jury using a scoring system. Based on their evaluation, the jury makes funding recommendations. These recommendations are then compiled into a report by the Grant Program Officer, who presents it to Mayor and Council for final approval.
