Proclamations

April 7, 2020 has been proclaimed as Green Shirt Day, in support of organ donor awareness/registration across Canada.

April 19-25, 2020 has been proclaimed as National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week.

May 2, 2020 has been proclaimed as Ukrainian Cultural Festival Day.

Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

The District of Mission’s Finance Department received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for the 13th consecutive year. This award is for their compliance and excellence in their reporting.

Forestry Annual Report

Council received the Director of Forestry’s annual report for their information. The report included an overview of forestry activities in the 4th quarter of 2019, and the outlook for 2020 with challenges and opportunities expected in the forestry sector through the coming year.

Cedar Valley Local Area Plan Implementation

Council approved the deletion of three obsolete land use policies, in order to align with the previously approved Cedar Valley Local Area Plan (CVLAP). This is to ensure consistency between the District’s land development policies, the OCP and the CVLAP to provide clear direction for development within Cedar Valley.
