WildSafe BC 2018 Update

Caitlin Mellow of WildSafeBC provided Mayor and Council with an update of the 2018 WildSafeBC program. The presentation included   included details of the program outreach, results from their educational initiatives, a wildlife conflict overview, and successes, challenges and goals for Mission.

Master Infrastructure Strategy Presentation

Ekistics provided a presentation on the preferred Master Infrastructure Strategy (MIS) for southwest Mission. The presentation can be found at mission.ca/mis.

Additional EV Charging Station at the Welton Common

Council has approved two additional electric vehicle (EV) dual charging stations to be installed at Welton Common on 7337 Welton Street.

Flood Risk Assessment Funding

Council has endorsed that the Provincial Community Emergency Preparedness Fund/Flood Risk Assessment, Flood Mapping & Flood Mitigation Planning program application to ensure the District has accurate knowledge of the flood hazards it faces and to develop effective strategies to mitigate and prepare for those risks be endorsed.

Heritage Week Proclamation

The week of February 18 – 24 has been proclaimed by Council as “Heritage Week” within the District of Mission. Keep an eye out for the schedule of events, which will be posted on our events calendar at mission.ca/events.
