Cedar Valley Local Area Plan

The draft Cedar Valley Local Area Plan (CVLAP) is a document that provides detailed policy guidance for the future development of the Cedar Valley Community. It provides guidance for land use planning, an environmental management strategy, development policies and an implementation strategy.  The CVLAP supports the District’s Official Community Plan (OCP) and is being considered for formal inclusion in the OCP. The Public Hearing for the necessary OCP Bylaw Amendment will take place on August 6, 2019.  For more information about the CVLAP and how it will be implemented, visit engage.mission.ca.

Mission Landfill Budget

The projected costs of the 2019 Landfill work exceed the current budget established under the 2019 Landfill Capital Plan. The work that needs to be done is either required by the provincial or federal governments, or is needed for the continued safe operation of the Landfill.  The Landfill Minor Capital budget has been increased to $201,600 (from $72,000) and the Phase C Closure budget has been increased to $1,018,314 (from $403,220).  Both of these increases were funded from the existing Refuse Reserve, with the Phase C Closure increases also using reallocated budget savings. These amended budget amounts include contract awards to Summit Earthworks Inc. and GHD Limited Engineering Consultants to complete the necessary work.

Donation from Royal Canadian Mission Legion Branch 57

The Royal Canadian Mission Legion has donated $6,401.92 to the Mission Fire & Rescue Service (MFRS) for the purchase of four Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs). These valuable life-saving tools will be put into service in four additional MFRS vehicles.
