By official proclamation of Council:

  • May 26 – June 1 has been proclaimed as Victims and Survivors of Crime Week
  • May 31 – June 16 is the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge
  • June 3 – 9 will be BC Child and Youth in Care Week

Victim Services Awards

Shawna Bain and Kristin Kelly were recognized for their hard work and dedication as members of the Victims Services team. Silvia Morales was awarded with a Survivor of Crime certificate.

2018 Climate Action Revenue Incentive Program

Mission expects to receive approximately $70,000 in refunds for carbon taxes paid in 2018. Past refunds have been used for projects that further promote GHG emission reductions.

Capital Projects Update

Staff provided Council with an update on Engineering and Public Works capital projects completed in 2018. 20 major projects were completed during the year, including the 1st Avenue downtown improvement project, 45,000 meters of paving, and the first phase of the 2nd Avenue transit exchange project.
