September has been proclaimed by Council as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The week of September 7-13 received a proclamation as Farmer’s Appreciation Week.
The weekend of September 27 – 29 has been proclaimed as Culture Days. Mission has been selected as host community for the Provincial launch of Culture Days this year. Mass Timber Early Adoption
Mission will be participating in the Province’s Tall Wood Early Adoption Initiative. This initiative authorizes and regulates the construction of mass timber buildings of 7 to 12 storeys in height.
Investment Holdings Quarterly Report
On June 30, 2019 the municipality’s total cash and portfolio investment balance was $120,640,844, with interest earnings for the first six months of the year being $1,200,544. The portfolio yielded an average annualized return of approximately 2.45% for the six months ended June 30, compared to 2.32% for the same period last year.
Crawford Appointed Liaison to Community Futures
Councillor Crawford has been appointed as the Council Liaison with Community Futures North Fraser, and will sit on the board for the organization.
