Mission, B.C. – The District of Mission is pleased to announce the appointment of Inspector Annette Fellner as incoming Officer-in-Charge of the Mission RCMP Detachment.

Mayor Randy Hawes said, “We are very pleased to have Inspector Fellner coming to Mission. Her experience, expertise, and leadership abilities will be an asset for our community. We’re looking forward to working together to continue the excellent work done by Inspector De Jager to enhance community safety here in Mission.”

Inspector Annette Fellner joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1996 and has served in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba in multiple roles including time spent as a Detachment Commander to five rural communities.

She has worked in the Economic Crime Unit and the Financial Integrity and Commercial Crime unit taking on the role of Team Commander leading complex investigations into identity theft, mortgage fraud and Ponzi schemes. Insp. Fellner was also a senior investigator in Manitoba’s Serious and Organized Crime Unit where she led high-­‐profile investigations providing oversight, supervision and development guidance on major projects. Most recently, she was a Regional Duty Officer, a role that monitors operations 24/7 and provides operational advice and guidance to detachments throughout the Lower Mainland including Mission.

An overriding theme in Insp. Fellner’s career has been her role as a leader and mentor to fellow police officers, which included an assignment to Depot where she was responsible for the development of future police officers during their initial cadet training. Assigned to D‐Division’s office of the Commanding Officer, Insp. Fellner lead the development of the respectful workplace program in Manitoba. She also established that Division’s Peer‐to-Peer system providing high‐level advice to the province’s most senior police officers.
