Mission, BC—The District of Mission will be re-opening the pool at the Leisure Centre starting December 8, with strict COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
Leisure Centre patrons will have the opportunity to pre-register to participate in a limited number of the community’s favourite aquatic activities, including length swims, family swims, water yoga, and water walking. The schedule is subject to change based on public health orders.
“We know this is a long-awaited facility re-opening and we’re happy to once again be able to safely offer some aquatic activities in Mission to help the community stay active,” said Acting Mayor Cal Crawford. “This cautious re-opening allows us to provide much-needed aquatic recreation to the families, adults, seniors and kids in our community while keeping attentive to the COVID-19 safety measures needed to slow the spread of this virus at this critical time.”
In this phase of the pool re-opening, the sauna, steam room, rope swing and waterslide will remain closed. More drop-in water fitness activities may also be offered when it’s safe to do so as directed by the Provincial Health Officer.
Patrons are reminded that masks are mandatory to enter the facility and to move through to their activity area, and a host will be checking-in all patrons through the lobby.
