What is it? A single-day event in Mission, BC celebrating all things bicycle.
Where is it? Fraser River Heritage Park
Who is hosting such an endeavor? It is a collaboration between us here @ M3C, the FVMBA, the District of Mission, RCMP and our other community partners.
When is it? Sunday, Sept. 30th, 2018 from 9am to 3pm.
Learn To Ride (better)
Starting at 9am, M3C will be hosting a Learn To Ride (better) session. Do you not know how to ride a bike? Or has it been 20 years since you last did it? Do you want to Learn to Ride either for the first time, or else as a refresher to improve your skills? We will have a fleet of cycling enthusiasts led by Certified Cycling BC Coaches teaching you the basics of bikes. We will also have a fleet of bikes for you to borrow if you don’t have one, or if your old Rusty Raleigh isn’t quite up to the challenge.
Bear Cub Kids Classic
Then, at 10am, the FVMBA will be hosting the first-ever Bear Cub Kids Classic. You can find out all the info here but the quick version is it is a mountain bike race for the young riders in your life. For kids of all ages – 2 to 16, there will be three different races (beginner, intermediate and advanced) and a sweet raffle including a bike giveaway!
529 Garage Bike Registry
Supported by the RCMP and the District of Mission, volunteers will be on-hand to help you get registered for 529 Garage. What is that? All the info is here, but it is an online service built to make sure your bike stays your bike. Registration is free and ensures that if the unfortunate happens and your bike does go missing, that there’s a good chance it can find its way back to you. There will be plenty of giveaway locks, helmets and other accessories to participants.
Critical Mass Ride
The Festival just happens to fall on the last Sunday of the month – just like our monthly Critical Mass ride. Join us for a ride to remember – come out and show the size and strength of our cycling community.
Ride starts @ 3pm as always and will take a enjoyable route around Mission to share a great ride at the end of a great day.
We’ll have Wentings Cycle Shop on-site running our pit tent for the day. Not sure if your bike is up to the challenge of any of these activities? Come see the crew at Wentings and they will get you rolling.
