Mission, BC—Local resident Brenna Maag will serve as Mission’s second annual Artist-in-Residence for Culture Days to bring an immersive experience to the community with her project Camera Illumina.

Residents are invited to drop by her exhibition on Sunday, September 25 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the ravine behind the Mission Library to look through three different handmade cameras.

The cameras were created using the ancient technology of the camera obscura and provide a unique opportunity to experience the setting in a new way. The event will also feature live music by musician Christopher John.

“Every time I looked through a Camera Illumina, I found that I could see gentle movement and that’s what really struck me,” she said.

Culture Days takes place throughout the Province from September 23rd through October 16th, 2022. Find more local events on the BC Culture Days calendar.
