Cultural Infrastructure Study

In June 2009 Council approved funding to hire a consultant to conduct a Cultural Infrastructure Study in Mission as part of addressing infrastructure needs for cultural groups, seniors and youth.  The purpose of the study was to establish principles that would guide the provision of cultural services and to undertake a space and needs assessment related to these various groups in Mission.  In June 2010, the consultant submitted their final draft report for Council’s consideration.

Council has now formally received the report as information and is releasing it to the public.  The report will act as a valuable resource during ongoing Council deliberations around infrastructure, community amenities and capital planning.

While the report will be a valuable resource, it has not been adopted by Council and there has been no specific endorsement of any of the recommendations at this time. A copy of the report is available here at Mission Cultural Infrastructure study. For further information, please contact Ray Herman at 604-820-5355.
