14th Avenue Watermain Replacement

What’s happening

A recently approved road improvement project for 14th Avenue will be phased over a 4-year period, and the first section to be constructed is between Hurd Street and Tanager Street. Prior to making the road improvements, the City is replacing about 1 km of older, undersized watermain on 14th Avenue east of Caribou Street.

The watermain replacement has started at Caribou Street and is progressing east. It will take 4 to 5 months to complete.

What to expect

During construction you can expect traffic delays, road closures, compaction resulting in vibrations felt in the home and general construction activity including heavy equipment and dump trucks. The watermain construction will require short periods of no-water as service connections are transferred to the new main. Every effort will be made to keep the inconvenience to the residents to a minimum. Your patience and understanding while these works complete is very much appreciated.
