2019 Home Owner Grants can NO longer be claimed online. Please see 2019 Retro Grant section below.
- Homeowners can now give permission to an “agent” to apply for their home owner grant on their behalf. The agent’s name and phone number are required.
- If in previous years you provided the Collector with proof of receipt of provincial disability assistance, hardship assistance or a supplement under the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Act, and you still qualify, you no longer need to provide proof to claim the additional grant.
The Home Owner Grant is a provincial government program designed to assist home owners by reducing their school taxes payable on their principle residence. For additional information on the Home Owner Grant visit the Province’s website.

2019 Retro Home Owner Grants
As of January 1, 2020, 2019 Home Owner Grants are no longer available to be claimed on-line. You may however, be eligible for the 2019 Retro Home Owner Grant.
The last day to submit your 2019 Retro Home Owner Grant form to the Finance Department is December 31, 2020. The Home Owner Grant Administration Branch will NOT accept 2019 Retro submissions after this date.
