The laws in British Columbia require the holder(s) of unclaimed property to make “reasonable efforts” to locate and notify owner(s) of their unclaimed property. If all efforts taken by the District of Mission are unsuccessful, information on the unclaimed property must be made accessible to the public in order to facilitate its return to the owner(s).
To inquire about any unclaimed property that you may own please print off and complete the Request for Payment of Unclaimed Property with supporting documentation including personal identification and return to the Finance Department.
It will take four to six weeks for a request to be processed and a claimant notified of the result. For further information please contact the Finance Department at 604-820-3717.
