Burning Complaints

District of Mission Burning Bylaw 2975-1996 allows for recreational fire pits, with a permit, for the purpose of personal warmth/cooking, and also allows burning of yard debris in non-garbage pickup areas during the months of April and November.  The bylaw states, however, that “no person shall continue to burn if it is the cause of an unreasonable nuisance to any other person in the neighbourhood because of drifting smoke, ash or an unpleasant odour.”

Burning reports can be made 24 hours a day by contacting the Mission Fire Rescue Service at 604-826-2313.  Please be ready to provide the exact address of  the location where the burning is taking place.

For burning reports of a serious nature, please contact 911.
