Mission Community Services Firefighter’s Santa Food Run (December)
Each year the Mission Community Services Christmas Bureau sponsors a food/donation collection program for families in need. Mission Fire Rescue Service firefighters volunteer their time to drive fire apparatus through selected areas of Mission to collect food, toys, and money. This program is very popular, and the public enjoys seeing the fire apparatus in their neighbourhood collecting for this worthy cause.
The Candlelight Parade (December)
This parade is held the first Friday of December and Mission Fire/Rescue Service emergency vehicles always participate. The Firefighters’ Association enters a fire department theme float in the parade each year and has won several awards including: 2nd Prize in 2002 3rd Prize in 2004 3rd Prize in 2008
Muscular Dystrophy Fundraising Events
The Mission Firefighters’ Association hosts in several fundraising events throughout the year. Many of these events raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. For more information on fundraising events click here.
