The City of Mission has awarded a construction contract to Hanna Infrastructure Ltd. (Hanna) to construct a new bridge across Hairsine Creek, on Keystone Avenue between Jacobsen Street and Wallace Street. The existing bridge has reached the end of its service life and must be replaced to ensure safe travel. Hanna will be demolishing the existing structure and the new bridge will be constructed along the same alignment. This work will require a full road closure on Keystone Avenue to ALL traffic.

Due to the instream works associated with this type of construction, most of the work will occur during the environmental (fisheries) window. Keystone Avenue will be closed to all traffic between Jacobsen Street and Wallace Street from August 6 to October 2021. Some works will take place before and after the full road closure however, minimum single lane alternating traffic will be maintained. Attached is the general detour plan for your reference.

During construction, every effort will be made to minimize the inconvenience to residents and businesses however, with work of this nature, some inconvenience will be unavoidable and we kindly ask for your patience and cooperation during this time.

If you have concerns about the ongoing construction, please contact Barry McDonald, Hanna’s General Superintendent at 250-212-5565. Should issues arise outside of normal working hours, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, please contact the Public Works after-hours dispatch service at 604-820-3761 and they will contact staff to respond.
