It is with great sadness that we share the news that beloved Mission resident Esther Claire Kathleen Clemo passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017.

Claire Clemo was one of Mission’s most beloved teachers. For more than 30 years, she educated, motivated, encouraged, and inspired the youth of our community with her passion for learning and her compassion for others.

Claire was a recipient of both the Queen’s Silver and Diamond Jubilee Medals and the Rotary Club’s Distinguished Service Award. In 2013, Claire was made a Freeman of the City – the highest honour that can be awarded to a resident of Mission.

In recognition of her accomplishments and her status as a Freeman of the City, the flags at Municipal Hall have been lowered to half-mast until her funeral.

She was a bright light in Mission and she will be dearly missed.

Claire’s celebration of life will be held on
Tuesday July 25th at 11:00 am
Cedar Valley Mennonite Church
