Garbage & Waste Collection
The City of Mission's curbside collection program is designed with a primary focus on reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable waste management practices.
Our team also operates a landfill, recycling drop-off depot, and composting programs.
Notice: Emterra to take over curbside collection starting July 2, 2025.
Residents will notice a new truck picking up their curbside collection as Emterra Environmental becomes the City's new contractor for curbside collection services. Find out more.
Starting July 2nd, Emterra Environmental will manage curbside collection. Please take note the following key points:
- New co-collection trucks will pick up multiple material types simultaneously, while keeping them separate.
- Schedules remain the same, but collection times may vary. Ensure materials are placed out between 5:00-8:00 AM on collection day.
- Current programs, accepted materials, and limits are the same. Unaccepted and over limit items will be stickered and left behind.

Report a Missed Pick-Up
Report missed pickups and other service issues directly to the collection contractor, Emterra Environmental, at 604-820-6487 or at curbsidecontractor@mission.ca.
Mission Landfill
The Mission Landfill (Minnie’s Pit) is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, seven days a week. There is a 50% surcharge on loads containing banned materials. Learn how to prepare for your visit.
Report Illegal Dumping
If you witness illegal dumping and would like to make a report, complete with evidence such as a license plate number, video or photo, please email bylaws@mission.ca.
