We wish everyone a safe and fun long weekend. Officers from the Conservation Officer Service and our Forestry Department’s Fire Warden will be completing patrols of the Stave West Forest and Recreation Area over the long weekend. Mission Fire Rescue will also be conducting patrols and will put out fires not in fire rings.
A few friendly reminders:
– Campfires only in approved Fire Rings at designated campgrounds. Campfires along the side of the Florence Lake FSR are not permitted, including the burning of pallets – as this leaves behind nails and other debris.
– The following areas are designated Day Use Only and will be enforced by the Conservation Officer Service:
- Rockwell Delta
- Devils Lake Loop Trail and Parking Lot
- 79 Grind Trail and Parking Lot
- Area east of Kearlsey Creek, near 9.5km
– Camping is permitted only in designated campgrounds
– If you are planning to use the Hayward Lake Boat Launch, please do not stage on Dewdney Trunk Road if the gate is closed.
