2023 Infrastructure Renewal Program – Henry Avenue Watermain Replacement
Please be advised that as part of the 2023 Infrastructure Renewal Program, the City of Mission Public Works utility crew will be replacing the watermain along Henry Avenue, from Dewdney Trunk Road to McTaggart Street. Construction starts March 14, 2023, and will begin at 7:30 AM and end at 5:30 PM, Tuesday to Friday. It is anticipated that all necessary utility works will tentatively be completed by the end of June 2023, weather permitting. Residents of Henry Avenue will receive a hand delivered letter with the following information:
Work will consist of the installation of a new watermain and water services, which will include excavation to property lines. Restoration, final road work and paving will follow.
During construction, traffic will be restricted to local residents and all other traffic will be notified to expect delays. If you live on Henry Avenue, your driveway access may be limited at times, please communicate with onsite traffic control for guidance on how to best come and go from your residence.
Street parking in this construction zone will not be allowed between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday. The City of Mission will establish a construction zone on the street by posting “No Parking Signs” 24 hours in advance of the start of work. In order for the crews to perform their duties, it may be necessary to tow vehicles left in these zones.
The City of Mission recognizes that utility construction is an inconvenience to residents. We thank you for your patience. The rewards of these upgrades today provide sustainable infrastructure for tomorrow.
Any questions regarding the work or access limitations, please call Public Works at 604-820-3761
