A bear has been sighted near 7th Avenue, between James and Stave Lake Street over the last few days and as of 1:30pm April 29th, it was sighted at Dunsmuir and 3rd Avenue.
Our City environmental staff attended these locations and noticed many bear attractants. Residents are reminded to ensure that ALL solid wastes (including compost and recycling) are secured indoors or in a wildlife resistant enclosure. Bird feeders are not permitted at this time of year, BBQ’s should be kept clean and pets should be fed indoors.
Please be bear safe! Failure to comply may result in a $250 fine.
