Centennial Park Japanese Tea House Project

Mission was selected by the Japanese Canadian Legacies (JCL) BC Heritage site's program to host a Japanese Tea House amenity to be constructed in Centennial Park. Mission has a rich history of Japanese Canadian's farming and foresting the land prior to the WWII internment. This site will not only share that community history but carry on the cultural legacy of Japanese heritage through providing small cultural programming space for the Mission community, which is exactly the purpose a traditional tea house may serve.
