Mission, BC—Community groups, organizations, and individuals were honoured for their work supporting wellness during a recent Community Wellness Strategy event.
"Mission is a community of volunteers and that is one of the characteristics that makes our home such a livable place,” said Mayor Paul Horn. “These Community Wellness Awards truly reflect the spirit of our community. They show that people here aren’t willing to sit by idly while they see neighbours in need.”
Council adopted the Mission Community Wellness Strategy in 2023. The social and health strategy was informed by community engagement and utilizes partnerships to wellness across multiple sectors and service providers.
“It is not surprising that these awards reflect such a broad cross-section of people, from construction companies to doctors, and from neighbourhood associations to informal groups who simply choose to act,” Horn said. “Mission is incredibly grateful for the commitment and creativity demonstrated by all of our recipients.”
