With the BC Day long weekend upon us, the City of Mission would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend. Here’s a round-up of reminders and announcements.
Curbside Collection Schedule Change Reminder
Have a question about whether an item belongs in the recycling, compost, or garbage? Or when your collection day is? Use the Recycle Coach App to find it out in moments.
Water Restrictions
Stage 2 water restrictions started on July 28. Residential lawn watering is prohibited. Find out more.
Fire Ban
A complete fire ban remains in place until further notice. This includes campfires.
Stave West Recreational Area
If you are planning a trip to the beautiful Stave West Recreation Area, please remember to leave no trace. If you pack it in, pack it out.
The Fire Department will be conducting regular patrols in the Stave West area, and will be extinguishing campfires.

Civic Facility Closures
The following civic facilities will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4:
- City Hall
- Welton Common
- Landfill
- Fire Hall 1 Office
- Mission Youth Centre
- Boswyk Senior Activity Centre
Mission Leisure Centre will be open for modified hours as noted below:
Mission Leisure Centre
Saturday, Aug. 2: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 3: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 4: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Most programs and classes do not run over the long weekend. Please check your Xplor Recreation calendar or registration confirmation.
