Mission, BC—The City of Mission is updating its Park, Recreation and Culture Master Plan to help ensure it continues to be well aligned with community priorities and aspirations as the city grows and moves into the future.

The current PRC Master Plan was adopted by Council in 2018 and provides guidance for managing and developing parks, recreational, arts and cultural facilities and programs within Mission.

As part of the update process, the City of Mission will be reviewing the original recommendations presented in the 2018 plan to see our progress and completion, as well as adding two new distinct sections:

  • A vision for a new Activity Hub Corridor
    • The Activity Hub is a proposed activation of the corridor connecting Centennial Park with the Mission Leisure Centre grounds.
  • Expanded Arts & Culture section

“Our parks, trails and recreation facilities are where we spend time with friends and family, connect with nature, and meet our neighbors,” said Mayor Horn on behalf of Council. “They are places where we get to celebrate what it means to live in Mission. Ensuring that our parks and amenities meet the needs of a growing and evolving population is one of Council’s chief priorities.”

Get Involved

“To get it right,” added Mayor Horn, “we need to hear from you. Please help us to improve these public spaces by giving us your thoughts.”
