Mission, BC—The City of Mission will launch community engagement for Phase 3 of the Official Community Plan Update on Tuesday, October 8. Phase 3 will look at the Big Moves and the Land Use Scenario that will shape the updated Official Community Plan.

"You can tell as you look through our community that change is all around us. Traffic, new construction, housing legislation, healthcare, schools - all these things are on our minds," said Mayor Paul Horn on behalf of Council.

Over the last year, the City has engaged with residents to understand priorities and develop policy recommendations on topics such as land use, housing, neighborhood growth, community amenities, greenspace protection and employment lands.

Community input shared during Phase 1 and Phase 2 engagement helped inform the Big Moves and policy shifts proposed for inclusion in the updated OCP. Read the latest consultation report.

"Even if you've given input into this process earlier, please continue to do so,” said Horn. “We are in the Big Moves stages, making some major land use decisions that will affect our traffic, where people live, economic growth and many other factors. It's the future of our community, please make sure you have your say."
