In May 2023, the City of Mission led community members through an interactive design charrette to vision the future of parkland located on Brackley Avenue in Stave Falls.

We now have two design concepts that have been created with feedback from that session [PDF/7.1MB] to share with you. See them below or download them.

About the Concepts

The Stave Falls Community Park design is structured around five central elements to elevate the recreational experience for all users:

  • Natural Play Features: They not only promote physical activity but also inspire imaginative play through features such as an embankment slide inspired by nature, sensory-rich environments, and interactive educational components.
  • Gathering Spaces: Strategically designed to foster social connections and inclusivity, these areas are versatile and adaptable to accommodate various community activities.
  • Pollinator Garden/Wildflower Meadow: Serving as a natural haven for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, this vibrant landscape integrates biodiversity within the park.
  • Connections: Ensuring seamless accessibility throughout the park, path networks unify all elements, providing users with effortless navigation between areas.
  • Creek Access: Direct access to the natural waterway will be facilitated with natural elements, such as boulder steps.

In this survey we are inviting residents to review both concepts and share their comments and preferences.
