Mission, BC—The City of Mission is expanding its business services agreement with the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce to bring local businesses and the community more services and events.

“Promoting employment and economic growth in our community is one of Council’s biggest priorities, and that’s something we need to do in partnership,” said Mayor Horn on behalf of Council. “We are excited to complete this agreement because it harnesses the power of BC’s longest-serving Chamber of Commerce. It’s one more piece of evidence that this is a great time to do business in Mission.”

Under the expanded agreement, the Mission Chamber of Commerce will take on the strategic role of developing a comprehensive welcome package for new businesses. The goal of this package is to provide businesses with important resources, tools, and support to thrive in Mission. In addition to this, the Chamber will also report on trends and areas where the City can better support local business.

This renewed collaboration aims to enhance economic vitality in Mission through initiatives and events designed to support and champion local businesses.

"The Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce and the City of Mission are committed to working together to build a prosperous future for our community,” said Celine Dauphney, Board President. “This new agreement represents a shared vision for our economic resilience and growth, promising a brighter and more sustainable future for all our residents. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this agreement and encourage business community members to engage and participate in this exciting new partnership to enhance business support."

The Chamber will also host several hallmark events throughout the year as part of this agreement, such as:

  • Mission Job Fair: Offering local job seekers and businesses a time to connect, network, and advertise opportunities.
  • Candlelight Parade: A community favourite for almost four decades! This beloved community event will light up the streets of Mission, showcasing local talents, businesses, and community spirit.
  • Business Forum: A session to share updates and ask questions about legislation, processes, and other updates.

The three-year agreement starts immediately.

“This collaboration allows us to deliver more impactful events and business services, including resources tailored to new and aspiring entrepreneurs to help them launch and grow,” said Miriam Bozman, Executive Director at the Chamber. “The Mission Chamber is committed to supporting economic growth and fostering a thriving local economy through advocacy, benefits, and connections.”
