Traffic Delays Expected on Murray Street Overpass and Highway 7
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is kicking off work on re-routing truck traffic off First Avenue. Motorists can expect delays along Highway 7, including the Murray Street overpass, between Glasgow Avenue and Catherwood Street starting May 1st through July 31st. Traffic Update, May 31st, 2024:
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will be working on Highway 7, between Murray Street and Catherwood Street with single lane, alternating traffic in place from Thursday, June 13th at 7pm through to Monday, June 17th at 5am. This work will cause traffic delays, please plan your trip accordingly.

Heavy Trucks to Be Rerouted Out of Downtown
Announced in November, 2023, heavy truck traffic will soon be rerouted out of downtown as part of a long-awaited road improvement project led by the Province.
At the heart of the project is improving the intersections at Highway 7 and Murray Street, and Glasgow Avenue and Horne Street so they can accommodate commercial vehicles headed for highway 7 or 11.
