  • Mission Folk Music Festival is proud to present an extraordinary evening with Lache Cercel & Roma Jazz Ensemble quartet as part of Culture Days.

Originally from Bucharest and now based in Vancouver, visionary violinist Lache Cercel has pioneered Roma Jazz—a genre that fuses the soulful depth of Eastern European Roma music with the improvisational spirit of jazz and the sophistication of Western classical traditions.

With this quartet ensemble, Cercel brings a performance that is both virtuosic and deeply moving. His music reveals the history of struggle, resilience, and ultimate survival at the heart of Roma traditions, while celebrating the power of cultural exchange and innovation.
