Morning Glories - Mission Coffee House Concert Series

Morning Glories is a Canadian harmony folk trio known for their dreamy harmonies and intimate performances. Rooted in tradition and alive with new energy, they create original music inspired by the magic of nature and their experiences as mothers, daughters, sisters, and lovers.

Morning Glories primarily perform a cappella, demonstrating the power of the human voice in a minimalistic style. Their performances are characterized by vocal harmonies complemented by organic rhythms of stomps, snaps, and claps, along with occasional ukulele, guitar, or percussion elements that enhance their intricate harmonies. A vintage-style microphone effectively captures the warmth of their vocals and instrumentation, resulting in a uniquely immersive and connected performance.

In 2017, Melinda, Kailee, and Candice commenced their musical collaboration, enriching their summers with performances during the choral off-season. By 2022, they officially established a trio known as The UppaTones, a name reflecting their all-soprano ensemble and their inclination to elevate songs by a tone. In 2025, they transitioned to the name Morning Glories, inspired by their original composition 'Morning Glory': "The branches climb, holding stories as they weave and they wind, giving root to the blossoms entwined around the morning glory."
