  • Mission Coffee House Concert Series is pleased to present the smooth vocal stylings of Michael Jantzen and Solomon Janzen at the acoustically renowned Clarke Theatre Cafetorium!

Vancouver area recording artist, Michael Jantzen, carves out his own space between folk and country. Better known artists like Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, Blue Rodeo, and Patty Griffin, have certainly made their mark on his style, but his greatest influence has been the Northwest’s indi-folk scene, which all started with his dad taking him to the local folk festival every year. Michael Jantzen has a gift for weaving introspection into poetic narrative and stick-in-your head melodies. Combined with his nuanced baritone and delicate guitar playing, he creates a distinct and inviting brand of roots music.

Solomon Janzen is the smooth voice and stellar bass/guitar playing heard on many recordings, from the likes of Michael Jantzen's debut EP to Laser Katz, Gin and Tall Tales and Roads Unknown. In addition to his expert instrumentalist skills, Solomon is also known for his own solo singer songwriting, performing his smooth jazz stylings at local venues like the Historic Old Dewdney Pub, the Mission Coffee House, and the Mission Folk Music Festival.

Together, these two fine gentlemen produce a sound that's as smooth as Tennessee Whisky. This will be a show you will want to attend to drink in the talents of these two soulful singer songwriters!
