Arts & Culture

The Cultural Resources Committee provides the expertise of a diverse group of people to make recommendations that will shape the infrastructure and support base for regional cultural activities, services and organizations in Mission. Their recommendations will sustain and enhance the social and economic benefits of culture which includes arts and multiculturalism throughout the City.

The committee is established by the City of Mission Council and supports the City’s mission statement: “Our purpose is to build a safe, healthy and inclusive community that is abundant in the economic, cultural and recreational opportunities.

Creative Conversations are quarterly community meetings that bring together those who have interest in Arts and Culture in Mission. It is a forum to explore topics, connect, share, in hopes that we can build the relational foundation to achieve great things in the years ahead. It is a place for those who are curious about the arts to get connected and learn more, and it is a place for those who know have a passion and vision for the arts to build into the Arts & Culture scene a driving force that keeps everyone coming back for more!

Do you love live performances and enjoy helping others? The Clarke Foundation Theatre is always looking for new volunteers to join our team of dedicated ushers. Orientations and annual safety orientations are provided to ensure everyone is prepared to deliver the high level of customer service we’re known for and ensure everyone is comfortable and prepared to carry out their duties. Time commitment requirement of 8 hours/month minimum. It’s a great way to see some great talent, make some great friends and give back. Learn more about volunteering at the Clarke and giving back to the cultural scene in Mission.  

Canada Day is a premier community event in Mission and it’s because of all the people who take part and donate their time to make it possible. We rely on community groups to host activities that are free to the community through either sponsoring a zone or attraction or bringing their group to the event to showcase any number of things that makes our community come to life.  From Bhangra dancing with the Punjaab Culture Club to junior firefighting with Mission Fire Rescue Services, Canada Day is a great way to get involved and get back.
